"All I want in life's a little bit of love to take the pain away"

"'what do i owe you?'

'if you ever find me face down in the gutter,

turn me over'"

we started out singing life

then life lost its beat

and the melody got ugly

the notes got out of our range

and we forgot the words

so we stopped singing

but every once in a while

a line comes along

that we can sing in time and in key and

know the lyric like it was written

by our own hearts

it seems like i've been mumbling nothings out of tune

for so long now, though

that i'm just gonna start waiting to grow old and still

while i remember times with women

that've had their hair done

the way i like it

and that had hair that smelled

like the cigarettes they smoked

remember times with men

with sleepy eyes filled with jewels

waiting to be mined

sharing stories and laughter with

different friends and a love

remember moments rich with love

while i grow old and still

it's fine

there might be some more

but it's enough

opening secret bee hives

Moi, j'avais jamais rien dit. Rien
